Robust Aluminium Framed Terrace Cover
The Mediterranea is a terrace cover which has a fixed framework with an automated retractable roof. When tensioned the roof creates a flat surface that guarantees the discharge of rain water and then retracts, concertina style, at the touch of a button. A fixed cover panel at the rear helps protect the fabric from the elements. The Mediterranea provides shelter from the rain and shading from the sun’s rays but can be fully retracted if desired to enable you to take full advantage of the good weather. It provides a sense of air, light and open space during time spent in the garden or on the terrace allowing you to capitalize on the available open space regardless of size. No other retractable terrace cover offers the versatility of the Med.
- Available up to a width of 11.8m at a 7m projection.
- High quality PVC fabric designed and manufactured for the use on external structures. All fabrics are waterproof, fire retardant and of a structural strength to keep their shape for years to come.
- The structure is made from high strength extruded aluminum, powder coated to give a clean contemporary feel.
- The cloth can be manufactured with specific PVC dimming fabrics, for total protection against the sun and rain.
- Optional side blinds allow the flexibility to create a totally enclosed environment.
- Drip catcher seals to prevent water seeping laterally over the cover edge.
- Bearing structure in powder coated Aluminium with wall or ceiling fastening system and supported by a bearing profile with150 x 90 cm with legs 150 x 90 for floor anchorage.
- Fabric bands awning, sliding on RAL coated Aluminium guides 165 mm and supported by aluminium coated horizontal profile 43 x 65 mm and frontal bar 85 x 65. Horizontal profiles, terminal bar and the guide are in Aluminium coated.
- Toothed belt drive system on lateral guides rotating on ball bearings.
- Front gutter with drain pipe integrated into the leg and water outlet within the floor fixing bracket
Operation
Manual operation via gear box (1 module only)
Electric Somfy tubular motor housed within the cassette, with wall mounted rocker switch control.
Or
Somfy remote controlled tubular motor housed within the optional cassette barrel which comes with a neat contemporary handset.

- Awning with wall mounted and ground fixed side channels specifically designed as a self supporting terrace cover
- Wind resistance: class 3 (110NM = 50KM) equivalent to grade 6-7 on the Beaufort scale. Many sizes tested to Beaufort 10

- In order to provide adquate water drainage it is recommended that the Mediterranea is mounted with a minimum angle of 8 degrees
- Three fabric ranges including block out fabric providing over 30 fabric references to choose from
- Frontal gutter to collect water discharged from cover, with drain integrated in leg and water oulet within floor fixing bracket
- Robust aluminium frame work available in 4 standard colours anthracite, stainless steel effect, white (RAL 9010), Ivory (RAL 1013)
Options
- Stack protection roof (required when fabric stack is not under cover) in either aluminium or transparent PMMA
- Powdercoat frame work to any RAL colour
- Fixed apex blinds to fill triangle between angle of roof and optional cross member
- Drop down side blinds, for front of system and sides, to give a complete room feel with flexibility to raise at the press of a button
- Goal post can be used to install systems back to back
- Lower acrylic cloth can be used to dress the under side of the roof.
